‘FORE!’ Weeks Away! Safe Harbor Golf Classic Foursomes and Sponsorships Are Still Available
The Safe Harbor Golf Classic is in final preparation mode for its 2021 fundraising golf outing. The October 18 event at the historic (and challenging) Chester Valley Golf Club is a major producer of resources with which the Chester County organization helps the homeless.
The importance of safety-net resources like Safe Harbor were highlighted by several unfortunate occurrences this year.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought illness, job loss, income reduction, work disruptions, higher costs of living, and other economic hardships to Chester County. These difficulties continue to increase the homeless population. As needs rise, Safe Harbor’s ability to help rises with it, underscoring its importance and worthiness of support.
Also, the tenuous status of federal rental protections threatened to dramatically increase the number of evictions. Although temporary solutions have been put in place, there are no guarantees that they will remain. Safe Harbor’s ability to respond is as important as ever.

The October 18 event includes pre-round beverages, lunch, play, and an awards ceremony rewarding the best scratch players (and duffers, as appropriate). Plus, you could win $10,000 for a hole in one on the specified hole.
The driving range opens at 10:30 a.m.; lunch is at 11 a.m.; and the shotgun start is at noon.
Play is at the Chester Valley Golf Club, which has one of the best reputations for golf in the area. First laid out in the 1920s, it was a frequent host of the PGA Senior Tour (now the PGA Tour Champions).
Golf legend Lee Travino called it a “hidden jewel” of local courses.
