Child Guidance Resource Center is hosting its annual Superhero 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Festival in-person and virtually Oct. 3, starting at 9 a.m.

All proceeds support families struggling with addiction and mental health throughout the Delaware Valley.

The kid-friendly, dog-friendly 5K and Festival take place at Ridley Creek State Park, pavilions 11A and 11B, or you can participate virtually from wherever you are.

The Superhero Run & Wellness Festival offers families prevention skills, builds awareness of substance abuse, and shares important resources.

Grab your Superhero cape or mask, or just your T-shirt and get ready to run and have fun while learning about prevention. The Festival has fun family activities, community resources and exciting surprises.

All participants registering before Sept. 25 will receive a tech-tee and a 5k box filled with fun items needed to have your own Superhero Run/Walk and Festival.

Prizes will be given for:

• Top fundraising team captain

• Fundraising team with the most participants (team with the most donors)

• Best Superhero costume

• Best Pet Superhero costume

• Best Superhero Family

• Most steps taken in one day (send us a picture of your Fitbit/iPhone/step

counter)

• Random prize drawings

Child Guidance Resource Centers will be promoting tobacco, drug and alcohol prevention and raising funds to provide therapeutic care for thousands of children and families from across the five-county Philadelphia area.

The event is coordinated by Child Guidance Resource Centers and partially funded by the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health Division of Drug and Alcohol.
