Nimah Narinesingh-Smith, an All-Ches-Mont League golfer who recently graduated from Kennett High School, has been awarded one of the Delaware State Golf Association Scholarship Fund’s college stipends, writes Fritz Schranck for the Cape Gazette.

The DSGA announced the winners during a recent ceremony held at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.

Narinesingh-Smith, who will compete at Delaware State University in the fall, won the 2021 Robert McCurry Award. This will provide the talented golfer with $6,000 for her first year of college and up to $28,000 in total.

The DSGA Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $1.4 million to students in the past 35 years. The program is sustained through a fundraising tournament at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. This year’s event is expected to take place on Aug. 30.
