Red Dog Market in Warwick Township is a small organic grocery store, recently opened by Aaron and Emma de Long. It connects shoppers with growers right in their community, writes Michilea Patterson for the Daily Local News.

The de Longs named the market after June, their adopted dog. It offers fresh produce along with locally sourced meat, cheeses, and various other staples.

Their mission is to help build a strong local food system.

A good part of the fresh vegetables available at the market are from South Coventry’s Kneehigh Farm, owned and operated by Emma.

The pair is also very committed to sustainable farming practices. Emma grows only organic food on her farm and also runs a community-supported agriculture program. Meanwhile, Aaron is the Delaware Valley hub manager for Pennsylvania Sustainable Agriculture.

“Almost everything in this store — especially meat, dairy, and produce — we know the people who grew it, and we know how they grew it,” said the husband.
