Sean Robinson, a fashionisto who spends his weekends riding at Bellwood, the foxhunting club at historic Eden Valley Farm in Spring City, lets his passion for all things equestrian influence his personal style, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

His unique couture consists of classic cuts and bespoke tailoring, along with the occasional Stetson.

As a grooming expert at premium barbershop ETHOS in Philadelphia, Robinson has one simple piece of advice for men over 35: Less is more.

“If your hair is thinning or you have some light spots, don’t overcompensate,” he said. “Don’t get self-conscious about it — just let it be and work with the flaws. Get a great cut, because small nuances make a haircut look great. Then, don’t over-style it. Make it look effortless and confident.”

He also advises men of all ages to give a beard — currently the biggest trend in men’s grooming — a try.

“A beard on an older gentleman rings a different bell, especially if it has some salt-and-pepper in it,” he said. “It’s like, ‘I know it’s sexy, and I’m going to rock it.’ A beard can transmit confidence.”
