Pennsylvania has the second-largest number of dairy farms in the country, and some of the best small-scale dairies and creameries are right here in Chester County, writes Alexandra Jones for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Chester Springs Creamery at Milky Way Farm has plenty to offer: an ice cream shop with nearly 50 flavors, a farm store, farm tours, summer day camp, and birthday parties.

Bailys Dairy of Pocopson Meadow Farm offers plenty of milk variations in its store. An ice cream truck puts its spin on the cold delicacy with local honey and sweet-tart raspberry shrub toppings.

Seven Stars Farm in Phoenixville carries delicious heavy cream, yogurt, cheese, and much more.

If you are looking for fresh and aged goat cheeses, Shellbark Hollow Farm in Honey Brook is the place to go. Conebella Farm in Elverson also has fresh and aged goat cheeses, along with Greek yogurt and yogurt smoothies.

Meanwhile, Honey Brook’s September Farm Cheese store is akin to a Wawa, with sandwiches, locally roasted coffee, and lots of cheese.

Finally, Birchrun Hills Farm in Chester Springs offers mouthwateringly good artisan cheeses and virtual tastings.
