Learn Best Practices for Maintaining Energy-Efficient Buildings from the Founder of Practical Energy Solutions
Green Building United, a member-driven nonprofit that aims to foster transformative impact through green building education and advocacy, invites you to learn about best practices for maintaining energy-efficient buildings.
As part of its Sustainable Building Maintenance Series, the nonprofit will host “Fine-Tuning your BAS” on May 26 and “Balancing Health and Energy Efficiency” on June 16. Registration is required.
This series is ideal for onsite operations and maintenance (O&M) staff looking to increase their knowledge of building science and how to identify energy savings opportunities. Building management seeking to become more familiar with how their buildings operate, which variables have the biggest influence on energy costs, and how and when to make energy efficiency upgrades that meet their economic criteria are also welcome.
Paul Spiegel – the founder of Practical Energy Solutions, a division of Spotts, Stevens, and McCoy, a regional engineering, environmental, and surveying firm – is one of the instructors.
Spiegel has expertise in energy auditing, strategic energy planning, rate analyses, capital investment analyses, energy education/panel presentations, and building construction. Prior to founding Practical Energy Solutions, he was principal-in-charge or engineering project manager for numerous large-scale commercial construction projects – including the construction of Lincoln Financial Field, Citizen’s Bank Park, Kimmel Center, Wells Fargo Center, Cira Centre, the Borgata Hotel & Casino, and Philadelphia International Airport Terminal A.
Spotts, Stevens, and McCoy is headquartered in Wyomissing with satellite offices in Lancaster, West Chester, and the Lehigh Valley. The firm provides services to various types of local, regional, and national businesses that include commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and telecommunications, as well as healthcare and higher education institutions.
