The seeds for this project were planted almost a decade ago, in the spring of 2013. That’s when Kennett Square mayor Matt Fetick invited the principals of a real estate development company, who were clients of Pillar Real Estate Advisors, to breakfast to encourage them to explore development opportunities in the borough.

Fast-forward to 2021.

Working with Pillar Real Estate Advisors, the developers were able to secure several contiguous parcels in the 600 block of West State Street. Then, in a cooperative effort with Kennett Square Borough Council, they acquired the needed zoning change that would allow for a mixed-use community.

Now, The Lofts at State Street, with its 166 luxury apartments, is closer to becoming a reality.

Pillar, the full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, represented the seller in its recent sale of the property to Berger Rental Communities.
