Chester Springs native Jack Mulcahy, a junior at Drexel University, has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Mulcahy, a Downingtown East High School graduate, scored the game-winning goal last Saturday, when the Dragons defeated Towson to extend their winning streak to seven games.

The 5-foot-8 midfielder came from behind the net to beat the Towson goalkeeper with just 11 seconds on the clock, giving Drexel a 12-11 lead and a season sweep of the Tigers.

Mulcahy finished the day with three goals and an assist. It was his second hat trick in a row, after he tallied three goals against Hofstra a week earlier.

He now has 15 goals and 10 assists this season. The Dragons, who are ranked ninth in the USILA (United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association) Coaches Poll this week, are now 8-2 overall and 6-2 in CAA play.

Drexel will begin the CAA Championships on Thursday against UMass.
