What could be a more calming salve to the world’s current ills than watching the birth of a cute foal, livestreamed from Chester County? Apparently not much, considering the international reaction that Walnut Green Farm in Unionville is getting to its live cameras, writes Richard L. Gaw for the Chester County Press.

The three cameras, placed in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association, have streamed the recent birth of a filly to home computers of hundreds of people, some from as far away as Sweden and Australia.

And in addition to being part of the foaling process, viewers can capture the sights of mares inside the stable and out to pasture while anticipating the arrival of the fillies and colts.

“The intention of our foal cams is to be able to bring people into our industry without having them come out to a race track or physically come to the farms, and instead, have it accessible on the computer in their homes,” said PHRA Marketing Director Ashley Eisenbeil.

The owner of this 100-acre farm, Mark Reid, is happy to share the amazing experience with the world.

“There is nothing like the act of seeing a new life arriving on the planet,” he said.
