Malvern native Jenn Walsh and West Chester native Brett Lilley met at the University of Pittsburgh, fell in love, and planned a wedding.

When COVID-19 interfered with their plans, they rethought everything, opting instead for an intimate ceremony with just family members, writes Lisa Dukart for Main Line Today.

The pair got engaged in 2018 and started planning an elegant affair with around 200 guests. They set the date for June 20, 2020. But when the lockdown was instituted, they realized their wedding could not proceed as they had imagined. Nevertheless, they decided to stick to their original date and held their ceremony at the Lilley family home in West Chester.

“We were lucky in the sense that our parents were very involved in the entire planning process,” said Lilley.

Both families joined forces to help transform the home’s backyard into a storybook space. The pair tied the knot on the set date in a magical surrounding with just 12 family members present.

“We handpicked every part of it, so it was meaningful to us and truly resonated with how we felt about each other and why we were getting married,” said Walsh.
