Berwyn-based Brandolini is selling six grocery-anchored shopping centers, including Lionville Shopping Center and Marketplace at Westtown, for an estimated $115 million to the international real estate investment firm Medipower Public, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Cyprus-based company has put under agreement properties that were offered up for sale by the Berwyn real estate firm last November. Brandolini, which owns and develops shopping centers, is currently disposing of its assets.

Prior to the pandemic, Medipower began buying Philadelphia-area retail properties that have grocery stores as anchor tenants. These included Cross Roads Plaza with ShopRite as a tenant and Centre Square Commons in Blue Bell with Aldi as its anchor.

In addition to the two Chester County shopping centers, the latest sale also includes Hamilton Square, Spring Towne Shopping Center, Dreshertown Plaza, and Limerick Crossing. The grocers anchoring these properties are Giant, Acme, Aldi, and George’s.

Together, the centers total 741,902 square feet. The average sale per square foot for the grocery stores is $589. The portfolio is currently 90 percent leased.
