After Eight Months on Ventilator, Local Woman, 66, Returns Home

By

After she spent eight months on a ventilator battling COVID-19, Bonnie Reilly left AristaCare in Plymouth Meeting at the end of last week and headed home with her husband, Bill, according to a report from CBS Philly.

Before arriving at AristaCare at Meadow Springs, a skilled nursing facility, Reilly was transferred to three different hospitals across the region.

However, now that she has recovered enough, she is finally able to go home and spend time with her family for the first time since May. And after thinking about the past months, she is especially thankful to be alive.

“You don’t know how much you take for granted,” she said. “I had to learn to walk again, to eat, to talk. I couldn’t do any of that when I came here.”

To help her celebrate, she got a proper sendoff at the facility and took the opportunity to thank the staff at AristaCare for her recovery.
