Chester County is home to eight of the top 39 school districts in Pennsylvania with the most valuable homes, write Ethan Lott and Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

To compile the list of the school districts with the highest home values in the state, the Pittsburgh Business Times looked at the most recent U.S. Census data for school districts across Pennsylvania.

Overall, four districts in the Keystone State had a median home value topping $500,000. This includes the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District in fourth place with a median home value of $569,100.

Seven more local school districts are in the $300,000-to-$500,000 range.

Unionville-Chadds Ford nearly missed joining the top category with a median home value of $499,800.

This is followed by Great Valley with a median of $404,600 and West Chester at $402,200.

The Kennett Consolidated School District is next at $387,700, followed closely by Downingtown at $378,400.

The list is rounded out with the Avon Grove School District at $340,700 and Owen J. Roberts at $328,200.
