Celebrate National Spaghetti Day with Takeout from These Four Local Italian Restaurants

By

Jan. 4 is National Spaghetti Day! Gear up for the year with a plate of pasta from your favorite Italian restaurant in Chester County and give homage to the much-celebrated spaghetti and meatballs.

Wikipedia says the origins of spaghetti are argued — was it Marco Polo bringing back this culinary invention from the East, or an Arab trade-route delicacy, or a home-grown Sicilian treat dating back to the 12th century? Time to do more ‘sketti research!

Many places have various ways of serving and dressing it up. Pasta is a glorious canvas to all sauces, meats, and vegs. In Chester County, these places know that a good sauce and toppings are what make the dish, right down to the last noodle.

Valley Forge

Valley Forge Trattoria and Lounge (located at 1130 Valley Forge Road in Phoenixville, 610-935-7579) is Italian dining with a view on the terrace and great food for takeout. Specialties such as the pasta with Feta cheese, olives, and their special garlic sauce, pasta with oil and garlic, or pasta with tomato sauce satisfies the hungriest customers.
