2021 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Rebecca Davidson

By

Rebecca Davidson, who grew up in East Goshen Township and graduated from West Chester East High School, is a Developer at Citadel Credit Union.

Davidson, who earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Immaculata University, entered the workforce as a 15-year-old when she got a job at Wawa. And she hasn’t forgotten her first day of work there.

“I had only been trained on how to prepare deli sandwiches,” she said. “However, on my first day, I needed to work the register because they were short-staffed that night, and you needed to be 18 in order to operate the deli slicer. The cashier who had ended his shift before me gave me a quick overview, and I just rolled with it. My manager made me Employee of the Month because she didn’t expect me to come back after my first day.”

Davidson credits Eric Skinner, Citadel’s Vice President of IT Operations and Development, with having the biggest impact on her career.

“He has trusted me and allowed me to expand my knowledge as a developer,” said Davidson. “He has supported all of my professional growth requests, such as participating on the United Way committee, attending the Leadership Chester County course, and furthering my technical education. He has also been a great mentor.”

Her proudest professional accomplishment was becoming the Chair for Citadel’s annual United Way Campaign and leading her team to increase employee payroll contributions by 23 percent.

“It’s rewarding to know that those funds will help to make Chester County a better place,” said Davidson. “I am so proud to work for a company that gives back!”

Davidson’s favorite Chester County restaurant is the Side Bar & Restaurant in West Chester.
