YMCA of Greater Brandywine to Host Virtual Holiday Event on Dec. 10
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine will host its first-ever “Season of Giving” on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 6:30-7:30 PM. This free virtual event is a family friendly kickoff to the holiday season for all ages, will be livestreamed, and feature familiar faces from the YMCA’s eight locations, as well as performances and the chance to win some great prizes.
“COVID-19 has presented many challenges for our entire organization, including the inability to gather together large groups of people in-person to celebrate the Y,” said Patti Campbell, Vice President of Mission Advancement at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “We are bringing the Y to your home free of charge, so that all in our community can tune in and feel connected again.”
In addition to the one-hour livestream, the YMCA is holding a virtual auction that opens one week prior to get the community excited about the event. Individuals can bid electronically on items, purchase raffle tickets, and even donate from the comfort of their own homes.
“Like many organizations, we’ve been forced to think outside of the box when it comes to events and how we can offer quality engagement to our community,” said Denise Day, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “We want people to know we are thinking of them and that the Y is still here to support everyone in our community.”
Right now, individuals and families can register for the event by clicking here. People can also purchase raffle tickets and limited-edition YMCA t-shirts with the famous “Life is Good” brand.
