December, like summer, is one of the best times to look for a new position or hire the perfect candidate.

As we enter 2021, many companies have new positions in their approved budgets for the upcoming year and would like to fill them as soon as possible. Likewise, job seekers can get a jump start on landing a new position now while others are distracted by the holiday season and start their search in the New Year. This combination can be win-win!

One way that companies and job seekers can mingle is at a virtual business networking event on Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 4:30-6:40 PM. Presented by HireOne, an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council, this event is not a job fair but rather an opportunity to network and share referrals with employers and other professionals – no resumes are allowed.

HireOne’s mission is to identify and facilitate effective linkages among the job seekers and companies hiring in Chester County and the region. With roughly 80 percent of people who get a job offer being referred to the company and cold online application accounting for only percent of jobs filled, the networking sessions hosted by HireOne are an invaluable tool for connecting people to expand their networks.

In this virtual event, everyone will break into small “rooms” with a mixture of employers and job seekers. Come share your network and meet people willing to refer you to their connections as well.
