Dining indoors may not currently be an option at The Desmond – or any other establishment in Pennsylvania, per Gov. Tom Wolf’s latest restrictions – but the Malvern hotel’s new Curbside Market could be the next best thing.
Now, customers can bring home a taste of The Desmond without ever having to leave their cars.
Like most businesses, Malvern’s premier hotel has not been immune to the debilitating effects of the pandemic, especially with business travel seemingly grinding to a halt and in-person events no longer packing the calendar.
“We started this new service out of necessity in April,” said Michael Chain, The Desmond’s General Manager. “Launching the Curbside Market has enabled us to continue employing people we otherwise wouldn’t be able to.”
Whether you want an immediate meal, one that can be heated later, or the ingredients to make your own, The Desmond Curbside Market has you covered. Its regular customers look forward to a new menu each week.
What looks good this week? Roasted boneless pork belly with three peppercorn crust, potato gratin with Boursin, and stir-fried green beans with peanuts and bell peppers. And there is much more to choose from.
The ingredients are the same high-quality product one would expect from The Desmond. Home-cooked meals are ready to reheat, and fresh and frozen meat and seafood are all reasonably priced.
Non-food items and PPE are offered as well, thus enabling you to eliminate a lengthy trip to the grocery store.
Customers can place their orders online and pick them up, with little to no contact, from 12-7 PM Wednesdays through Saturdays. When arriving, you can pull around the hotel’s circle entrance at your scheduled pick-up time and pop open your trunk, and your order will be delivered to you – another great reason to give it a try!
