TikTok Star, Forbes Under 30 Scholar Lands Vanguard Job Thanks to His Entrepreneurial Spirit
TikTok star Nate Woodman, a recent graduate of Penn State, has landed a job at Vanguard thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, writes Mackenzie Cullen for Onward State.
Before he graduated earlier this year, Woodman started a clothing business, became a TikTok star, and earned a spot on the Forbes Under 30 Scholar list. He was also a member of the Schreyer Honors College, having graduated with a degree in energy business and finance. He minored in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Woodman got the idea for his clothing brand, Dolphin Apparel, five years ago, while swimming on the Science Park Dolphins swim team. When he realized that the team did not have any apparel, he decided to make some himself.
“I thought, ‘Well, wait. Why don’t I sell dolphin shirts that align with that swim team?’” he said. “If I hit that market, if I could sell to those families — the people that I know and am friends with — that would work.”
His venture was a success and it put him on Forbes radar, securing him a spot on the Under 30 Scholars list in 2019. Today, his time is devoted mostly to his job at Vanguard, where he is a part of the Malvern-based investment giant’s Emerging Leader Development Program.
