For children, it’s  difficult to explain why they have to wear a mask and even harder to assure mask wearing is happening when they’re interacting with their friends.

Nicolette Vona, 15, wanted to encourage her young brother Cameron, who has autism, to wear a mask.

Nicolette is an artist from a young age and with the help of the family pet, Dusty, she created a coloring book, “Dusty Wears His Mask.”

You can see a video explaining Nicolette’s project here.

Nicolette’s mom, Jennifer, is a widow raising three kids and loves what her daughter is doing to help her brother and other children gain a new appreciation for wearing a mask.

Cameron is part of Child Guidance Resource Centers’ CREATE Program, which he enjoys attending.
