Galer Estate Winery in Kennett Square plans to utilize its outdoor space as much as possible during the colder months by relying on metal fire pits to keep guests warm, writes Paul Vigna for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

Right now, the boutique winery is using an outside deck, along with another deck covered with a tent, to seat visitors. A few are also seated inside and just outside the tasting room, with a good many choosing to sit behind the tasting room and winery, either at the provided tables and chairs or on chairs that they have brought themselves.

General manager and winemaker Virginia Mitchell and her team spend their time serving and selling bottles. The popular winery favors dry and white wines, with its Albarino, non-oaked Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Vidal being among the crowd-pleasers. Among the red wines, the favorites are a blend called Huntress Red and a Cabernet Franc.

The winery, which is owned by Brad and LeLe Galer, reopened in September after a harvest break. As well as serving wines, the premises also offer Airbnb services.
