Elverson-Based Revivalist Gin Gets Local Chefs to Bare It All for Worthy Cause

Philadelphia-area chefs are getting naked to help Elverson-based Revivalist Gin promote its drinks while raising money for hospitality workers, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Revivalist’s Scott and Don Avellino got the idea for this latest marketing campaign after dipping into the annals of print-advertising classics. During their search, they came upon a popular series from around two decades ago in which chefs posed in their birthday suit with their Vita-Prep blenders.
The Avellinos decided this would be a great way to add levity to their gin promos.
So the pair got photographer Kevin York to shoot four naked chefs posed next to various bottles of Revivalist Gin. The chefs who decided to bare it all for the campaign are Joel Singer of Barry’s Buns; Keith Taylor of Zachary’s BBQ & Soul Kitchens; Reuben “Big Rube” Harley, a fried chicken specialist; and Hilary Hamilton, chef at West Conshohocken’s Jasper’s West Side and Conshohocken’s Jasper’s Backyard.
For every Facebook share and each Instagram repost, the Avellinos will donate $1 – up to $5,000 – to the Hospitality Assistance Response of Pennsylvania. The organization provides emergency aid to hospitality workers.
