Despite the Pandemic, Coatesville’s Revitalization Moving Forward
During a meeting held earlier this week on Zoom, it was reported that, despite the pandemic, Coatesville’s revitalization efforts are continuing, writes Lucas Rodgers for the Daily Local News.
More than 50 people gathered virtually for the progress report on several redevelopment projects in the city from Coatesville City Council President Linda Lavender-Norris, City Manager James Logan, and Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance Economic Development Administrator Sonia Huntzinger.
Among those present at the meeting were current and former local lawmakers, federal officials, investors, and stakeholders, as well as community members.
“This is an exciting time for the City of Coatesville,” said Lavender-Norris. “In the midst of everything that’s going on, we’re moving forward. We’re progressing in a really positive manner. We’re just excited about the direction of our city.”
The projects that are moving forward include construction of the nth Innovation Center. This will offer entrepreneurs an environment where they can grow their businesses from concept to commercialization.
Meanwhile, upcoming planned projects include a new train station and parking garage. Bids for the train station will be going out by the end of the year, with construction set to start next year.
