As Chester County’s nonprofits help the community navigate the pandemic and economic crisis, the challenges they face as organizations are immense. Simply put, there has never been a time when strong volunteer leadership has been needed more.

Leadership Chester County – the United Way of Chester County’s highly regarded leadership development program provided in partnership with the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry and West Chester University – is the go-to training to ready volunteers for service.

While many companies have been hit hard by these challenging times, now is not the time to pull back on training rising stars for service.

LCC is designed to build leadership skills and community awareness and introduces participants to local nonprofits, the social issues their missions address, and nonprofit board roles and responsibilities. This training in governance, community, and self-awareness and developing diverse teams is as valuable in the workplace as in community service.

LCC has been altered for a digital platform and split into two cohorts, instead of the usual one.

Three more people are needed for the fall/winter cohort, which begins Thursday, Oct. 15. These remote sessions are scheduled twice per month and last until Jan. 21, 2001.

United Way recognizes that there are financial challenges for some, and therefore financial assistance is available.
