Join Child Guidance Resource Centers, Oct. 4-31, for the 8th Annual One Stride at a Time: Superhero Run for Prevention and Wellness Fair.

This year the fair takes to the trails virtually.

All event proceeds directly support families struggling with addiction and mental health in the five-county Philadelphia area.

The prevention theme, “One Stride at a Time” is especially relevant this year. Isolation, worry and anxiety triggered by the pandemic have contributed to an increase in drug and alcohol misuse.

These circumstances have a devastating impact on children and families as a whole.

The Superhero Run & Wellness Festival offers families prevention skills, builds awareness of substance abuse, and shares resources.

Although we will be apart, we will be spreading Superhero energy everywhere!

Register for the virtual race at https://bit.ly/CGRC5K.

Grab your cape or mask (or just your T-shirt) and post a picture on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), or send an email telling us you completed the run.

You can post your route, your costume, your time, anything and everything you like. Then, you’re officially part of the Superhero team! You have until Oct. 31, at 5 p.m., to complete your run or walk and let us know.

All participants will receive a tech-tee and a Festival-in-a-Box with all items you need to have your own Superhero Run/Walk and Festival.

Your special box will include fun family activities, community resources, and some exciting surprises.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, join us live on the Child Guidance Facebook page at 1 p.m., where we will announce our winners. Prizes will be given for:

  • Top fundraising team captain
  • Fundraising team with the most participants (team with the most donors)
  • Best Superhero costume
  • Best Pet Superhero costume
  • Best Superhero Family
  • Most steps taken in one day (send us a picture of your fitbit/iphone/stepcounter)
  • Random drawing prizes

You can be highlighted on this years’ official shirt by becoming a sponsor or creating a fundraising team. Contact TLutter@cgrc.org for more information.

Be a superhero for a great cause. Join us to promote tobacco, drug, and alcohol prevention and raise funds to provide therapeutic care for thousands of children and families. Together, we can change lives.

This event is coordinated by Child Guidance Resource Centers and partially funded by the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health Division of Drug and Alcohol.

Child Guidance Resource Centers is a 501c3 charitable organization headquartered at 2000 Old West Chester Pike, Havertown, PA 19083.
