Silji Abraham, senior vice president and chief digital and transformation officer at Exton-based West Pharmaceutical Services, is among the 2020 Minority Business Leader Award recipients, writes Casey Darnell for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

As the head of the company’s Global IT and Enterprise Business System teams, Abraham leads efforts to improve West’s technological infrastructure. To do this, he utilizes his more than two decades of experience in healthcare and life sciences, industrial automation, and the automotive sector.

For him, the COVID-19 pandemic has re-emphasized the importance of making quick decisions.

“Learning to make instant decisions based on risk profiles and realizing execution at incredible speed is the way to lead in a crisis like this,” he said.

Outside of work, he has launched a nonprofit crowdfunding platform called Share Your Fortune. The goal is to connect donors and volunteers to help various causes around the globe, such as funding the development of low-cost ventilators to combat the pandemic.

“It is open for any causes that support humanity,” said Abraham. “I believe it is everyone’s responsibility to contribute to the collective progress of humanity, and this is my small contribution.”
