Developer Proposes 115 Townhouses Along Pottstown Pike in North Coventry

Artisan Development is proposing a new project that calls for 115 townhouses along the west side of Pottstown Pike (Route 100) in North Coventry Township, writes Evan Brandt for the Daily Local News.

The same developer currently has two more proposals going through the approval process within the region. Its proposed 143-unit, 55-and-older community in Upper Pottsgrove was awarded preliminary approval in November. Meanwhile, the developer is also asking East Vincent Supervisors to adjust the zoning restrictions to accommodate a 212-unit, age-restricted home project.

Currently, there are not many details available about the North Coventry proposal, as the township just acknowledged receipt of the submitted plan.

What is known is that the 19.24-acre site – which is in the township’s C-4 Neighborhood Commercial zoning district – would have access from two locations along the west side of Route 100, as well rear access onto Hoffecker Road.

“The applicant is proposing a Neighborhood Mixed Use zoning overlay,” said Township Manager Erica Batdorf.

The township now plans to schedule a meeting with the developer and invite planning commission members to start working on the details.
