The last few months have produced many challenges in all of our lives.

As a society, we have been more isolated than ever before due to the pandemic. COVID-19 has given us a new perspective on what others are going through, from the loss of family members and friends, to the loss of jobs.

Now, we are facing another challenge, acts of violence and protest rooted in racism.

There are many confusing and frightening images and stories on the news right now. How do we explain what is happening to our children?

Child Guidance Resource Centers, a nonprofit organization that provides mental health services for children and families, will host a Virtual Meetup to discuss this important topic.

On Friday, June 5, at 1:30 PM, two Child Guidance therapists will offer a free live Zoom session. Learn effective ways to have challenging conversations with your children about race and violence. To claim your spot, contact Lrichmond@cgrc.org.

You can also learn more about talking to your children about racism through this Child Guidance Resource Centers Facebook video found here, or by visiting the Child Guidance Resource Centers Facebook page.
