A knee injury and the coronavirus pandemic have kept him off the pitch, but Dan Grindrod is looking forward to getting back into action soon.

A knee injury and the coronavirus pandemic have kept Dan Grindrod off the pitch, but the midfielder on West Chester University’s men’s soccer team is looking forward to getting back into action this summer, writes Tom Moore for The Bucks County Courier Times.

“I can’t wait to get recovered,” said Grindrod, a Neshaminy High School grad. “I haven’t wanted to go on a run so much in my life.”

Although a season is still not a certainty for health-safety reasons, Grindrod believes he will soon get a chance to once again show off his skills.

“I’m fairly optimistic we’ll have a season, whether it’s shortened or modified in some way,” he said.

During his three years at WCU, the Rams managed to reach the NCAA Division II Tournament each year. Their record during that time was 44-11-8.

Now, Grindrod is aiming for a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and hoping to win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.

“We’ve got a lot of potential on the team, for sure,” he said.
