For the second consecutive year, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, a leading source of national news covering diversity in higher education, has named West Chester University’s Division of Student Affairs as one of the “Most Promising Places to Work” for 2020.

WCU is one of only three universities in Pennsylvania to have earned the prestigious distinction that was awarded to just 27 select universities and colleges in the country. Diverse recognized WCU and other winners during the American College Personnel Association’s annual meeting in Nashville in early March and published the findings in a recent edition of the magazine.

“The Division of Student Affairs takes pride in creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students, in collaboration with many areas within and outside of our division,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Zebulun Davenport, who holds a Doctor of Higher Education and Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. “As we inspire an environment that yields much academic success inside the classroom, we work equally as hard to cultivate the holistic development of our students outside the classroom. Our team’s efforts have lasting effects on students’ lives.”

Research findings have been compiled by Do Good Work Educational Consulting LLC, an education research firm committed to inclusive excellence. With a focus on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment, a web-based survey approach was used to examine categories such as family-friendliness, salary/benefits, and professional development opportunities.
