J. Scott Catering in Malvern is leading the charge to keep our healthcare workers and emergency personnel well fed, as they battle the COVID-19 pandemic, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.

The Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau, Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry, and Chester County Economic Development Council are supporting the initiative “Food for the Frontline: Chester County Delivers Meals to Heroes.”

Every donation of $9.50 will provide a protein-rich, ready-to-eat meal for a worker at Chester County Emergency Services, Main Line Health, Pocopson Home, or Chester County Hospital. A custom label for each meal with your company logo or personal message is included.

“We got the idea from what they’re doing in Delaware County,” Scott Walsh, the owner of J. Scott Catering, told VISTA Today. “We’re all going through a difficult time and wanted to do something to give back to the community.”

Donations to the initiative can be made here.

“It’s a good program, very practical, and provides a great meal at the end of a shift for people on the frontlines,” said Guy Ciarrocchi, president of the CCCBI. “For those of us at home working, it’s a small way for us to contribute. It reminds us that while we may be stuck at home and facing our own challenges, there are people going out and facing the virus every day.”
