The coronavirus crisis is bringing out the best in Chester County residents and businesses, who are responding to the growing hardships with acts of kindness, writes Fran Maye for the Daily Local News.

One such act took place over the weekend, when members of Willowdale Chapel in East Marlborough donned masks and joined a nurse and licensed food provider to deliver more than 10,000 pounds of food to 250 at-risk, low-income local families. The food was provided by the faith-based ministry.

Meanwhile, Wright Restoration Services of Parkesburg has donated the majority of its inventory of N-95 masks to senior living facilities in Chester and Lancaster counties.

Medical personnel are also the subjects of these outpourings of kindness. Limoncello Restaurant, Lenape Pizza, Azuka Restaurant, Buddies Burgers, and Leo Zahurak joined forces to provide the ER staff at Chester County Hospital with a catered meal together with $3,500 in gift cards for future dinners for all departments in the hospital.

And to make a West Chester boy’s sixth birthday special during isolation, police officers, West Chester Fire Co. No. 51, and Goodwill Fire Co. No. 2 held a “mini-parade” outside his window.
