Sisters Ramona Leap and Jolie Martinez have brought their shared dream to fruition by opening One Spark Fitness in Phoenixville, writes Courtney Diener-Stokes for the Daily Local News.

“I have been passionate about fitness my entire life, and my sister is the same way,” said Leap.

The idea for their fitness studio was born after the sisters took instructor training for Zumba. Leap, at that time, was a nurse and Martinez a secondary-school educator, so the training course was strictly for fun.

“We did not think we would ever teach,” said Leap.

That soon changed, as each of them was asked to instruct Zumba classes at different fitness clubs within a few months. After moonlighting as instructors for years, they began talking about opening their own studio, and two years ago, they made it a reality.

Today, the sisters run a welcoming club that is comprised of a supportive community where women encourage other women.

“That is important to us, that no matter what level your fitness or what size you are, that you feel welcome and that you can do it and that you are encouraged,” said Leap.
