Sikorsky has been awarded a second contract to build six more Presidential Helicopters with more than a third of the work assigned to the Coatesville plant, according to a report from NBC Connecticut.

The company has entered into a contract with the U.S. Navy to construct the helicopters.

Sikorsky expects to begin delivery of the six VH-92A Presidential Helicopters in two years and to complete the order by December 2022.

“The program continues to progress on budget and within our planned acquisition timeline,” said Col. Eric Ropella, PMA-274 Presidential Helicopter program manager.

The largest portion of the work, around half, will be completed in Stratford, Conn. The next is Coatesville, where 36 percent of the work on the new helicopters will be done. Some of the work will also be done at plants in Owego, N.Y.; Patuxent River, Md.; and Quantico, Va.
