Black Cat Café in Devon offers great food for a very good cause, writes Bethany Owings for 6ABC.

“This is basically a rescue restaurant,” said Judy Link, the café’s chef and manager, “and we save animals every day.”

The eatery is run by Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society, a cat rescue that uses all of its proceeds to help cats. The PALS nonprofit pulls high-risk cats from area shelters and finds them foster and forever homes. It also raises money for medical funds, among other things.

The all-volunteer staff at the café prepares homemade breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Sunday. Among the menu offerings that are especially popular are the French toast, pancakes, and vegan options.

In addition to meals, Black Cat Café also has a gift shop with unique cat-themed items.

Guests also get to hang out with some adorable felines as the café keeps adoptable cats in the front foyer where the gift shop is located. The cats spend their days hanging out in the café and go to foster homes at night.
