The award-winning Tredyffrin/Easttown School District serves the townships of Tredyffrin and Easttown, encompassing 38 square miles in eastern Chester County. The area is primarily made up of single-family homes and includes such notable communities as Paoli, Devon, Berwyn, Daylesford, Chesterbrook, Strafford, and Wayne. More than 7,000 students attend the district’s eight schools.

Mechanic/Boiler Operator

This full-time position (5 AM-1:30 PM) is five days a week, 12 months a year and has excellent benefits. The pay is $23.87 per hour.

The Mechanic/Boiler Operator will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all equipment associated with the heating system; evaluate and produce specifications and parts lists in order to complete assigned tasks and/or projects; calibrate, repair, replace, and troubleshoot equipment associated with low-pressure boilers/heating systems; perform preventative maintenance on all types of piping/plumbing equipment and gas equipment as per assignment, work order system, and/or preventative maintenance program; and reviews blueprints and specifications for new projects and installations to ensure working relationship with current systems and equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in maintaining low pressure boilers and heating systems; effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with staff, students, contractors, and others who may be encountered in the course of a work assignment; the ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, etc., and use trade terminology effectively; and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
