Will Swan, who was born in Colorado but grew up in Unionville after moving there when he was three years old, is the Digital & Social Media Manager for the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau.

Swan studied Multimedia Design at the Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts, which is now the Art Institute of York. He credits his colleague, Nina Kelly, the Director of Marketing & Public Relations at the bureau, as having the biggest impact on his career.

“She has taught me a lot about our industry and has always had my back and been super supportive,” said Swan, who began working when he was 16 years old at the Country Kettle, which is now The Gables at Chadds Ford.

Swan’s proudest professional achievement is his work with social media.

“When I started at the Visitors Bureau, social media wasn’t being used much for marketing the area,” he said. “So, I got together with upper management and discussed starting a paradigm shift and to make social media a major priority. In 2016, we had 2,300 followers on Facebook and were reaching 3,000 consumers a month. Currently, our Facebook has 170,000 followers, and we reach an average of one million consumers a month. We didn’t have Instagram at that point, but we now have 15,000 followers on Instagram, and we won Main Line Today’s Best Business Instagram Page in 2017. Overall, we are reaching 12 million people a year through social media, and they are all potential visitors to the area.”

Swan’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Barnaby’s in West Chester.
