After spending several months with Mannheimer HC, one of the top field hockey clubs in Germany, Honey Brook native Kelee Lepage returned to the University of Maryland for her senior year with more confidence and swagger, writes David Suggs for The Diamondback.

“She did a lot of traveling, she had to learn a language, she lived by herself, she grew up a ton,” said coach Missy Meharg. “She became an adult in a foreign world where English is not the first language.”

Finding her footing in Germany was not easy, but Lepage, a Twin Valley graduate, found a way to not only fit in but also improve her game.

After her time there was over, the defender returned to College Park with a new mentality. She has tallied three goals and six assists and started all 19 matches this season for the 16-3 Terrapins, who face Saint Joseph’s in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

“She’s brought a lot back to us,” said forward Kyler Greenwalt. “Her positivity, her work rate, she’s been killing it lately.”
