The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry honored Berwyn resident Ashley McEvoy, worldwide chairman of medical devices for Johnson & Johnson, as its Executive of the Year during its annual dinner at Longwood Gardens earlier this month, writes Virginia Lindak for The Pottstown Mercury.

Every year, the chamber recognizes one senior executive who has demonstrated outstanding business and civic leadership in Chester County.

“Each year, we have the opportunity to highlight someone for either their creativeness, sense of civic values, or in the case of Ashley, someone who is building teams and creating next generational leaders,” said CCCBI president Guy Ciarrocchi.

McEvoy has been with Johnson & Johnson for more than two decades. She leads the company’s surgery, orthopedics, interventional solutions, and eye health business and is also the executive sponsor of the Open & Out employee resource group that supports the global LGBTQ community.

During her speech, McEvoy talked about the success Chester County has had in serving the local community through public-private partnerships.

“Chester County is a bit of a North Star for many other civic communities,” she said.
