After retiring earlier this year, Ryan Costello, Chester County’s two-term representative in Congress, is launching his lobbying shop, Ryan Costello Strategies, writes Alex Gangitano for The Hill.

Costello, a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School whose lobbying ban expires in January, has been doing policy-related work throughout the last year. Now, his new shop is offering government affairs expertise to various companies, trade associations, and other organizations.

During his time in office, Costello served on a number of committees, and his plan is to use this experience to build his client base.

“I have remained extremely current and have deepened even more my understanding in the areas of telecom, tech, healthcare — from pharma to the insurance side of it — to the energy sector and transportation sector,” he said.

Before running for Congress, where he established a reputation for being a moderate Republican, Costello was Chairman of the Chester County Board of Commissioners.

Last January, he joined a group advocating to fight climate change using a carbon tax.

“What I really want to do is work on issues that I believe in and where I think there’s a real need,” he said.
