The number of apartments planned or already under construction in Chester County continues to grow, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.

In fact, the apartment boom is happening in nearly every corner of the county.

In Tredyffrin, the developer Bozzuto plans to demolish the old H.H. Gregg/Golf Galaxy on Swedesford Road and build an upscale apartment building there.

Meanwhile, Eli Kahn hopes to develop a luxury apartment building on the north side of Lancaster Avenue in Devon, and Cornerstone Tracy and Pohlig Builders want to build Berwyn Square in Berwyn.

Another luxury apartment building, Station Square, is also going up just north of Paoli Train Station. Four new luxury apartment complexes are also planned or under construction in Malvern, either in or near the Great Valley Corporate Center.

Finally, GMH Capital plans to erect Frazer Lanes, a new apartment building, in place of Frazer Lanes Bowling Alley.

Residents in several towns, including Berwyn and Devon, have been rallying against the construction projects, citing traffic issues and putting too much strain on schools and first responders among the reasons.
