Chester County Home to Eight of the Region’s 50 Wealthiest ZIP Codes

This five-bedroom home is on the market in Chester Springs, the fifth-wealthiest ZIP Code in the region, for $1.95 million.

Chester County is home to eight of the region’s 50 wealthiest ZIP Codes, according to research conducted by Sharon Oliver for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The rankings were determined by median household income in 2017. Additional data included:

  • per-capita income
  • median value of owner-occupied homes
  • the percentage breakdowns for workers with management, business or science, or art jobs
  • racial/ethnic population
  • education attainment profiles

These statistics were obtained from the five-year version of the U.S. Bureau’s 2017 American Community Survey.

Chester Springs checked in at No. 5 with a median household income of $148,730.

Next is Berwyn at No. 23 with $123,587 in median household income, closely followed by Glenmoore at No. 25 with $121,849, Lincoln University at No. 26 with $120,946, and Landenberg at No. 27 with $120,068.

Malvern placed 34th with a household income of $113,441, while Devon was 38th with $111,892 and Downingtown was 50th with $102,842.
