Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry Announces Endorsements for County Commissioner

By Guy Ciarrocchi

Our Chamber has endorsed candidates for Chester County Commissioner. We have been endorsing candidates for public office for decades.

We stand behind — we stand with — candidates who stand for economic growth, job creation, and opportunity. And, we stand with candidates who understand that Chester County’s quality of life is one of our strongest assets and equally important to what is special.

Without hesitation, we have endorsed three candidates: Commissioner Terence Farrell, Commissioner Michelle Kichline, and Marian Moskowitz.

The incumbent commissioners, Terence Farrell and Michelle Kichline, have a record of accomplishment that is second to none: in our region, in our state, and even across the nation. Here are some of the reasons that Chester County is a great place to live, work, or start a business:

  • the lowest unemployment rate in the state — well below the national average
  • the highest average income of any county in the state
  • a reduction in homelessness to levels not seen in generations
  • our county has preserved so much open space and created so many trails and parks that the land protected is bigger than the City of Philadelphia (and Pittsburgh) combined

A growing economy. Looking out for the least among us. And, offering a wonderful quality of life. This is not an accident — it’s leadership.

And, over the last few years, they have done all of this while keeping taxes low, being awarded the best bond-rating possible — and in a bi-partisan partnership with Commissioner Kathi Cozzone. No bickering. No cheap shots. No pettiness.

They worked together, worked through their disagreements, and together lead a team and lead partnerships that have created a county — a community — that is the envy of the state, if not nation.

They need a partner to keep this county moving forward, successfully, with a community focus. That next leader is Marian Moskowitz.

Citizens in eastern and northern Chester County have known Marian for decades as a developer of properties and communities — at the forefront of the rebirth of Phoenixville. And, she is someone who has been giving back to our community, too.

Civic and business leaders from across the county — from across the region — have recognized her leadership on our county’s Economic Development Council (CCEDC).

In fact, the CCEDC Board recently elected Marian to be Board Chair — overseeing economic and business development in our county.

And, two of the CCEDC’s Board members are Commissioners Terence Farrell and Michelle Kichline.

Our chamber knows that not only is Marian highly qualified to be a commissioner; we know that she can work together with different groups, different businesses, and different regions to keep our economy growing.

We know that Terence, Michelle, and Marian will work together — because they have worked together, for years.

If you care about economic growth, if you care about opportunity — and that the growth and opportunity leave no community behind — and if you care about effective, results-oriented government, then we ask you to stand with us.

On election day, you may vote for two candidates: We urge you to make sure that you cast your two votes for Terence, Michelle, or Marian.

Protect our wonderful quality of life. Promote our economic growth, and support the team ready to govern, effectively, from Day One. Do not take it for granted. Success is no accident.

Stand with Terence Farrell, Michelle Kichline, and Marian Moskowitz.
