The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry will honor Berwyn resident Ashley McEvoy – the Worldwide Chairman of Medical Devices at Johnson & Johnson and one of Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business – as its Executive of the Year.
The CCCBI will present McEvoy with the award, which recognizes a senior executive who has demonstrated great business and civic leadership in the community, at its Annual Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 7 at Longwood Gardens.
The CCCBI’s Annual Dinner is its most prestigious event of the year and celebrates the chamber’s accomplishments throughout the past year while looking ahead to the future. The evening will feature expanded networking, an open bar, and award presentation.
McEvoy has been at Johnson & Johnson for more than 20 years. In her current role, she leads the surgery, orthopaedics, interventional solutions, and eye health businesses, which generate approximately $27 billion in revenue. McEvoy’s sector employs 70,000 associates across Ethicon, DePuy Synthes, Biosense Webster, and Johnson & Johnson Vision.
Also, she is the executive sponsor of Open&Out, an employee resource group that supports the LGBTQ community globally. Under her leadership, this group has advanced Johnson & Johnson’s goal of having its workforce reflect the populations it serves.
“I started my career in advertising in New York City, and then in Europe,” said McEvoy. “But then I fell in love with a little company called J&J about 24 years ago. I love J&J because it’s a world leader in healthcare and a place where I felt like I could have a big impact on people all around the world.”
