During his “Welcome Back Address,” West Chester University President Chris Fiorentino told around 300 staff and students that the university is always both in motion and full of momentum, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.

“Perhaps the best time to see West Chester in motion is between classes,” Fiorentino said. “Stand in the Quad on any weekday, and you will observe a sea of students in motion.”

He said that, just as its students, West Chester is an academic institution constantly moving forward, and “all that motion has brought us a very long way.”

“I see West Chester University as a university that is not only in constant motion, but is also moving with a great deal of momentum,” he said. “That momentum partly comes from our strength — strength that comes from delivering an exceptional education at a reasonable cost.”

He said that more than anything else, everybody at the university has to work together to keep that momentum going.
