Chester Springs Creamery at Milky Way Farm is one of the stops on Pennsylvania’s celebrated Pursue Your Scoops Ice Cream Trail that officially kicked off this summer, writes Regan Stephens for Food & Wine.

The Ice Cream Trail was organized by Visit PA in partnership with the state’s Department of Agriculture. The program includes a series of trails that cover Western, South Central, and Eastern Pennsylvania. Each of them includes a combination of scoop shops and family-run farm creameries that highlight the Keystone State’s strong dairy industry.

The initiative has been a boon for helping local farms diversify their businesses, said Carolyn Eaglehouse of Milky Way Farm. Her Chester Springs Creamery is part of the Eastern Trail. There, visitors can enjoy flavors named after the cows that supply the milk.

“Every flavor has a story behind it,” said Eaglehouse.

As a bonus, people who get hungry or thirsty on the Trail can stop for lunch at the Chester Springs outpost of Stickman Brews. The brewery offers a diverse menu with something for everyone.
