Serving at the Crossroads, a Media-based nonprofit, will host a Casino Night on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6-10 PM at the Brandywine River Museum of Art in Chadds Ford.

You’ll definitely want to save the date for this exciting event, where attendees can play table games, stroll through the art galleries, listen to live music, and bid on auction items.

A ticket to the event includes

Serving at the Crossroads was founded in 2004. The nonprofit partners with Manos Amigas, a non-government organization (NGO) in Honduras, to provide high-quality medical, dental, and eye care to those who have less in the Copan region of Honduras.

The founders of Serving at the Crossroads knew the standard nonprofit model of swooping into an underserved area and “fixing” everything wouldn’t work for long-term sustainability and improving quality of life. Therefore, to enable local people to help themselves, Serving at the Crossroads embraced the philosophy of “aid, inform, and empower” as its model.

Staffed with local healthcare professionals, the clinic is open seven days a week. Serving at the Crossroads augments the Honduran staff with brigades of U.S. specialists who treat patients and train local healthcare providers.

To date, the clinic has treated more than 180,000 patients. With mentoring from Serving at the Crossroads, the clinic staff and the Manos Amigas Board have taken ownership of the clinic, solving the day-to-day problems and planning for the future.
