The President’s Speaker Series at West Chester University will welcome National Public Radio correspondent Nina Totenberg on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 PM in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, located in Philips Memorial Building at 700 South High Street.

Tickets range from $27-$32 and are available here.

As an award-winning legal affairs correspondent for more than 40 years, Totenberg shares her seasoned reflections on the Supreme Court and provides audiences insight into today’s judicial headlines. In-depth and wildly thought-provoking, Totenberg’s deep experience and nuanced perspective shines a light on the Court’s inner workings and helps audiences understand the impact of headline-making judicial cases on America’s future.

As a respected journalist, Totenberg’s reports are regularly featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition. She has won every major journalism award in broadcasting and holds the distinction of being the first radio journalist to have won the National Press Foundation’s Broadcaster of the Year Award.

“Nina Totenberg is the definitive voice on legal issues for National Public Radio, the most respected radio outlet in the nation,” said Dr. Edward Lordan, Professor in WCU’s Department of Communications and Media. “She combines two critical skill sets required by the best in the field: a mastery of the intricacies of the issues she covers – in this place, the American legal system – and an ability to communicate those complexities in a way that her listeners can understand and appreciate.”

The President’s Speaker Series, formerly known as the Philips Lecture Series, brings distinguished speakers to WCU’s campus. Funded through an endowment created by George Morris Philips, WCU’s president from 1881-1920, past speakers include Jane Pauley, Linda Ronstadt, Bob Woodward, Elie Wiesel, Maya Angelou, and Doris Kearns Goodwin, among many others.
