Mary DelRossi, a drive-thru specialist at the McDonald’s on Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown, recently celebrated four decades working in the same restaurant, writes Ginger Rae Dunbar for the Daily Local News.

The restaurant owner, Laura Sander, organized a party for DelRossi on Monday and invited customers to visit and celebrate with her during her shift. To honor the longstanding employee, Sander even ordered a special cake with the McDonald’s logo on it.

The Downingtown location opened its door for the first time in January 1979. In August that same year, DelRossi joined the staff and has been working there ever since. She is a favorite among customers due to her positive demeanor and great customer service.

“You keep treating customers good, and they’ll come back to you,” DelRossi told 6ABC. “You give them good, awesome service, and they’ll tell other people.”

And after four decades of providing great service, she has no intention of slowing down any time soon. Or at least not in another 15 to 20 years, she said.

The celebration was also visited by Mr. Downingtown, who wrote about it in a now viral post on his Facebook page.
